ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Dan & Pat Nelson Family Foundation was established in 1998 by Dan and Pat Nelson as a vehicle for promoting the arts, education and healthcare in Washington and Idaho. The Foundation's primary area of emphasis is grant-making.

Currently, the Foundation's focus is on providing grants for programs developed for youth and seniors in Pierce County, Washington. Among the Foundation's many grant recipients some are the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, Communities in Schools, Great Peninsula Conservancy, Meals on Wheels, NORTHWEST TREK, Seniors Making Art, Tacoma Little Theater, Tacoma Art Museum, The Zoo Society and Werlin Reading.

The Foundation envisions a world in which every child and family has the opportunity to choose their own futures and succeed in fulfilling their dreams.
